At the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, Iran took on Brazil. Despite Iran’s strong efforts, Brazil’s impressive teamwork resulted in a commanding 100-59 victory, highlighting Brazil’s determination to make a mark in the tournament.

Iranian icon Hamed Haddadi entered the game as a substitute, using his post-play skills to create opportunities for his teammates. Despite the loss, Haddadi, playing as center, managed 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in just 16 minutes, making a significant contribution.

“We started the game so badly, not focusing on defense and offense,” Haddadi said. “In the second half we played a little bit better. It was the first game for all of our young players, who have no experience. It was a good game for them to get some experience. But we have to try to get better for the next match.”
