The Lakers are gearing up for a busy offseason, and one of their top priorities is securing their star player, Anthony Davis, for the long term.

According to recent reports by Dan Woike, the Lakers have expressed ‘strong interest’ in signing Davis to a lucrative 3-year max extension worth a staggering $170 million.

Currently, the 30-year-old power forward is under a 5-year, $190 million contract with the Lakers, which is set to run through the 2024-25 NBA season. However, the franchise is eager to solidify Davis’ place in their long-term plans and maintain a dominant presence in the league.

During the 2022-23 season, Davis averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in just 34 minutes per game. With his ability to score, defend, and dominate the paint, Davis remains a cornerstone player for the Lakers.

As the Lakers aim to assemble a formidable roster for the upcoming season, securing Davis on a max extension would undoubtedly be a significant step toward ensuring a competitive and championship-contending team.
