The Golden State Warriors aren’t closing their doors yet on Andre Iguodala, but they don’t expect the veteran to be back in their lineup for next season nonetheless.

That’s what new team president Mike Dunleavy Jr. echoed as he recently appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area’s “Dubs Talk” with Monte Poole.

“But my sense is Andre’s probably got some other stuff going,” Dunleavy stated.

“But he has my number. The phone is always on.”

Iguodala was on the verge of retirement last year but the Warriors made a desperate call for him to be back. As he announced his intent to return to their camp for the 2022-23 season in his “Point Forward” podcast, the 39-year-old went on a note that it would be his last.

Last season was abrasive for Iguodala’s hope to potentially have a great last dance with the Warriors franchise. He was only available for eight games of play and averaged 2.1 points, 2.1 boards, and 2.4 assists.

A fractured left wrist that required surgery ultimately shut down Iguodala’s latter part of his campaign for the Warriors as this even hindered him to help the Dubs on their title defense last postseason.

For now, Dunleavy is making it clear that while they still consider a probable reconnection with Iguodala, it will still be up to the forward if he’ll continue for his 20th year in the association.

After a productive offseason that saw themselves adding Chris Paul, Dario Saric and Cory Joseph, the Warriors still have two open roster spots to fill on their 15-man slate.

“We’ve communicated some this summer already,” Dunleavy said. “We’ll see. We’re not going to close the door on anything. But my guess, and my belief, is that he won’t be back.”
