Unlike many young players, Jabari Smith does not have to worry much about earning minutes in the NBA. The No. 3 pick in last year’s NBA Draft started in all 79 games for the Rockets during his rookie season.

The 20-year-old power forward is obviously a part of Houston’s future. Despite his position on the team, Smith does not shy away from playing in Summer League. He lit up the tournament by scoring 33 points, including a game-winning three-pointer in the first game.

“I’m 20 years old. Why wouldn’t I play? We were 22-60 last year. … My rookie year wasn’t perfect, so why not get out here and get reps? Play with my new teammates, play with my new coaches,” Smith said, via Bleacher Report.

Smith averaged 12.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 31 minutes per game last season.
