Looking back at 2022 NBA Training Camp observations from 10-1-22.

MarJon Beauchamp could develop into the player that the Bucks have been missing since losing PJ Tucker

Beauchamp didn’t get much playing time as a rookie, but I still think his potential is very high. Working out with Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer in Greece should help him a lot.

Heat need an extra defender in their starting lineup

Even though head coach Erik Spoelstra didn’t have Caleb Martin or Gabe Vincent as full time starters, they did prove that they can play high level defense in meaningful minutes. Martin & Vincent improved their offensive skillset this year as well, both averaging 12.7 PPG during the playoffs.

I like the professionalism I’m seeing so far from new Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla

Head coach Joe Mazzulla guided Boston to the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals and will be back next season, but it was obvious he has to get better at calling timeouts/late game decision making.

It’s gonna be interesting to see what other OKC youngsters establish themselves besides SGA, Dort, and Giddey

The Thunder saw some nice seasons from youngsters like Isaiah Joe, Jaylin Williams, and Aleksej Pokusevski. However, 2022 #12 pick Jalen Williams established himself as an NBA starter in just his 1st season and let the entire league know he’s for real.

Houston definitely has scoring, need to focus on defending and making the right plays

This ended up being the story of the season for Houston. New Rockets head coach Ime Udoka is all about defense and executing the right way, so I thought he was the perfect hire.
