This year the Lakers have two draft picks – number 17 and 47. Anonymous NBA scout thinks that Los Angeles is looking for a specific type of player to draft.
“I can see the Lakers and teams in the same spot as them looking for the best available player and for players with shooting range,” a Western Conference scout said, via Broderick Turner of Los Angeles Times.
“You’re looking for length. You are looking for 3-and-D. That’s the going rate for everybody now, looking for somebody that can guard and somebody that can shoot.”
The Lakers have not had a first-round pick since 2021. D’Angelo Russell is the only player drafted by the Purple and Gold who is on the main team now.
