German national team could have two Lakers on its roster in Dennis Schroder and Austin Reaves. But it is unlikely to happen this year.

While Schroder has been a longtime member of the national team, for Reaves it would be his debut on the international stage. The 24-year-old shooting guard was asked about his plans for the national team during the season-closing interview.

“We haven’t had any conversations recently. It’s been a couple of months since I talked to anybody,” Reaves said. “But the whole plan was not to do anything this summer, but eventually I would like to experience that. But that’s really it.”

Germany will participate at this years FIBA World Cup in August-September. The team will play in Group E alongside Finland, Australia and co-host Japan.

This season Reaves averaged 13 points, 3 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 28.8 minutes per game. His numbers in the playoffs were 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 36.2 minutes per game.
