The Lakers suffered a 106-121 loss against the Warriors in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Tuesday night. Despite the loss, the Lakers still lead the series 3-2 and will play Game 6 at home in Los Angeles.

The Warriors dominated early, outscoring the Lakers 32-28 in the first quarter and building a double-digit lead in the second. The Lakers struggled to take care of the ball and gave up offensive rebounds that led to easy points for the Warriors.

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham acknowledged the team’s struggles in the post-game press conference, saying, “We defended better in the second half. They had 11 threes at halftime. Ended up with 13 for the game. I just thought early on we had too many turnovers, gave them some gimmes, some offensive rebounds that turned into points for them, turnovers turned into points for them.

“Just got to do a better job of taking care of the ball and again continue to get hits on offense in terms of setting screens and playing downhill. And be ready to make a quick decision on catch.”

Despite the loss, the Lakers had several strong performances from their top players. LeBron James scored 25 points, while Anthony Davis added 23 points and 9 rebounds before leaving the game early due to a head injury. D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves each contributed 15 points.

The Warriors were led by Steph Curry, who scored 27 points, and Andrew Wiggins, who added 25 points. Draymond Green also had a strong performance with 20 points. Klay Thompson continued to struggle with his shot, finishing with only 10 points on 3-of-13 shooting.
