Anthony Davis took an untimely exit on the Los Angeles Lakers’ 121-106 Game 5 loss against the Golden State Warriors due to an apparent head injury.

Davis sustained the injury after accidentally being elbowed in his face by Kevon Looney midway through the fourth. He checked out with 7:34 left and was announced unavailable to return, and proceeded to head towards the dugout to get examined by team’s medical staff.

Per ESPN’s Marc J. Spears, Davis was escorted to the locker room sitting in a wheelchair, as Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka and agent Rich Paul also checked the condition of the All-Star big.

Davis left the match with 23 points in 10-of-18 shooting to go with nine boards and three assists.

“He took a shot to the head. He seems to be doing really good already, so that’s where he’s at and the status of it right now,” coach Darvin Ham said about his update regarding Davis in postgame.

As the Warriors now only trails 3-2 in courtesy of their Wednesday home victory, the ball is already in the hands of the Lakers if they will be able to finally end their epic series and advance to the Conference Finals in front of the sellout Crypto.com Arena crowd.

As such, all eyes are certainly watching Davis’ condition and availability on Friday’s Game 6, as his latest health issue delivered a major swing for the rest of the second-round set.

In Games 3 and 4 which all resulted in wins back home , he averaged 24 points, 14 boards, three steals and two blocks in 66.2 percent shooting.

“Obviously AD is huge to what we do. I believe he’ll play,” said Austin Reaves on Davis’ status for Game 6.
