Anthony Davis understands that he was underwhelming for the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, as the Golden State Warriors went on to capitalize on his passiveness to split their Conference Semis via a 127-100 victory.

The star big man has noted that he had similar shot looks in his historic Game 1, but failed to convert them completely.

“I took all the same shots I took in Game 1, [I] just missed them. Elbow jumpers, pocket passes to the floater – same exact looks,” Davis said.

“Like Bron said they made adjustments. … We’ll be better, I’ll be better making those shots. [Now] get back home on the home floor and try to take care of business.”

After dropping 30 points, 23 boards, five assists, and four blocks in an epic fashion last Game 1 win, Davis was nowhere to be found for the Lakers on Thursday, chipping in with just 11 points and seven boards on 5-of-11 field goals while being swarmed by Draymond Green and unsung hero JaMychal Green in the shaded area.

As the Dubs were laser focused and have tightened their defense to respond against them to get back in the series, coach Darvin Ham is fully optimistic that his Lakers troop will regroup successfully as the series shifts to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4.

Per StatMuse, the Lakers have won nine-straight games in Game 3s when the series is knotted at 1-1, which is considerably the longest in playoff history.

“We’ll go back to the drawing board and look at different ways we can sustain what we did well and what we’ve done we’ll over the course of these first two games and then look at what we can possibly to better,” said Ham.

“I fully anticipate our team to respond in the right way.”
