James Harden got a true reflection in his brief time with the Brooklyn Nets, which was marred by dramatic occurrences and a quick split-up following just one season.

“There’s a lot of internal things that was going on which was one of the reasons why I made my decision,” said Harden. “And everybody talked down on me and gave me negative feedback. … But now fast forward today, nobody’s like, okay, ‘James was smart.’

“But I’m happy where they are now. Best of luck to those guys and Joe Tsai (Nets’ owner) and that organization. They turned what they had into something really good. They’re in the playoffs and nothing but great talk about those guys in the organization.”

Amid constructing a failed superteam with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving also at the helm, Brooklyn managed to turn things around last midseason and acquired reliable key assets in Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith – finishing the regular season as the sixth-seed of the East.

Now a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, Harden is slated to face the Nets in the first-round series this weekend.
