The hope to see Zion Williamson play for the Pelicans this season got another hit. NBA insider Shams Charania reports that the 22-year-old’s hamstring might have healed but his conditioning is far from where it should be.

“From what I’m told the Pelicans don’t think Zion Williamson is even close to getting back on the floor,” Charania said on Pat McAfee Show.

The expectation is that Zion would start practicing during the first round of the playoffs at best.

This season Williamson averaged 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 33 minutes per game.
