As it was reported already, Andrew Wiggins will not play in the remaining two regular season games for the Warriors.

The 28-year-old small forward has not played since mid-February when he left the team due to his father’s health situation.

While Golden State is trying to clinch a playoff spot, Wiggins is working on his conditioning. Dubs head coach Steve Kerr says that the player participated in a scrimmage yesterday.

“No scrimmage today. We had a practice, relatively light practice,” Kerr said. “But Wiggs went through everything. Really good review session on some of our offensive principles and some prep for tomorrow for Sac defensively.

“And Wiggs is down there now getting shots up. But today’s a lighter day for him coming off the scrimmage yesterday and he’ll be getting more work in the next few days. Performance staff is monitoring everything. But he told me this morning he feels pretty good and he’s on a good track.”

When asked about re-integrating Wiggins with the starters, Kerr said that it will not happen in the next couple of games. He also laid out a plan for the player if the Warriors drop to the play-in zone.

“It’s not gonna happen these next couple of games,” Kerr said. “He needs more time to prepare. Ideally, if we could finish in the top six, we’d have a week or so to prepare and there would be scrimmaging going on during that time and Wiggs would be involved in that.

“But we got to earn that, we got to win these next two in order for that to happen more than likely so. Otherwise he’s gonna be working with our staff every day and just trying to continue to build up his stamina and we’ll go from there.”

This season Wiggins is averaging 17.1 points, 5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 32.2 minutes per game.
