The Pelicans kept their hopes of direct playoff qualification alive with the win over the Clippers (122-114).

Despite big game from Kawhi Leonard (40 points, 8 rebounds) and Russell Westbrook (24 points, 9 assists), Los Angeles was unable to get the victory.

Brandon Ingram, who scored team-high 36 points for New Orleans, was guarding Westbrook for some parts of the game. He talked about the assignment during the postgame press conference.

“Just me trying to do whatever I can do to affect the game and disrupt the game,” Ingram said after the game. “He played a three in that third quarter or that fourth quarter. I just wanted to slow him down a little bit.

“He was getting to the rim a lot in the first quarter. In the second quarter he made a statement of really really trying to get downhill. So, I was just trying to put some length on him and trying to discourage him from going t the rim.”
