Tyrese Maxey is one of three main players for the 76ers along with Joel Embiid and James Harden. The 22-year-old point guard is the team’s third top scorer.

But his impact is not limited to the offensive side of the ball. According to his teammate De’Anthony Melton, Maxey is a two-way player.

While may prefer to focus on offense, Melton says that the point guard is more than capable of delivering on the defensive end too.

“He’s like a two-way player now, almost. Like, it’s crazy,” Melton said after the Sixers win. “He be picking up full, he be sliding, he be turning people. So, you know, it’s big for his growth. It’s something he may not want to do all the time, but he’s actually good at it based on his speed and stuff like that. I’m proud of him and it’s something he can do.”

This season Maxey is averaging 20.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 33.5 minutes per game.
