The Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd was asked if tonight’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets was a case of playing down to a short-handed team with a bad record.
“This is the NBA and anything can happen if you put your best foot forward,” Kidd said. “As I talked about pre-game, Cliff [Steve Clifford] is going to have these guys play hard no matter who’s in uniform.
“And that’s what they did. Then they made shots, clearly in that first quarter, but our intent –Â we have to be better. That’s just the bottom line. We weren’t very good tonight.”
