After temporarily staying away from the team as he donned a walking boot in his foot recovery, LeBron James appeared to have made significant progress as he supported the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday night.

In their weekend game against the New York Knicks, James was visible on the sidelines of the Lakers with no walking boot on his right foot. He was also caught effortlessly dribbling a basketball, which further shows a positive sign for the club and the L.A. faithful.

“Everything is going according to plan,” Ham said regarding James’ recovery, per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer has been out since Feb. 26 after sustaining a foot injury against the Dallas Mavericks.

With 14 games left in their regular season, all eyes are certainly watching James’ progress as he is set to be re-evaluated in two more weeks.

With him averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists, his presence will indeed be vital as the Lakers remain determined to keep their year alive and be back in the postseason stage amid inclusion in a tight seeding race of the Western Conference.

James already missed seven-straight games, but in the team’s last two games before Sunday, he was given an excused medical leave – which the group viewed as necessary enough to free his mind and mental space.

“It’s also good for him to unplug a little bit. Not be detached necessarily, but just mentally get a little bit of a calming to everything that’s transpired over the year,” Ham said. “… It’s been a lot.

“So it’s not just about him getting healthy, it’s about him being in a good place mentally and spiritually so we get the best version of him when he returns.”
