Memphis Grizzlies big Brandon Clarke will be unavailable for the entirety of the 2022-23 season as he suffered from a left Achilles tear, multiple sources have confirmed on Saturday.

Clarke sustained the unfortunate injury on the Grizzlies’ 113-97 Friday loss against the Denver Nuggets. He left prematurely in the final seconds of the first quarter after he started limping off a missed free throw.

With Steven Adams remaining out, Clarke’s absence for the remainder of the season is devastating to the Grizzlies’ title hopes, as the club remains glued at the top two of the West with a 38-24 record.

A trustworthy backup for both Adams and Jaren Jackson Jr., the Canadian was averaging 10.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season. He was also shooting 65.6 percent from the field – a career-best.

Clarke secured a four-year, $52 million contract with Memphis last October.
