The Timberwolves had the option to foul during the final Mavericks’ play, but chose to try and get a stop instead and they were successful.
Anthony Edwards talked about locking down Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving during the final play. He and Jaden McDaniels were responsible for guarding two of the best offensive players in the league.
“This is what me and Jaden [McDaniels] out here for. We out here to get a stop, so put us on the best two players and see what we do,” Edwards said postgame, per Talkin’ NBA on Twitter.
