Anthony Davis has been out with a foot injury since mid-December. Lakers head coach Darvin Ham recently said that the 29-year-old power forward is “trending in the right direction.”

According to NBA insider Shams Charania there Lakers hope to have Davis suit up for them before the All-Star break.

“Anthony Davis is expected to start running now,” Charania said on FanDuel TV. “Once that happens and he’s back on the floor running at full speed, at that point he’s going to progress to contact work in a relative near future.

“I’m told that the hope is that Anthony Davis is going to be able to get back out on the floor with a handful of games left before the All-Star break. That puts you out at about early February for potential return for Anthony Davis to get back on the floor.”

This season Davis is averaging 27.4 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 33.4 minutes per game.
