Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry prematurely left the team’s Wednesday 125-119 eventual loss against the Indiana Pacers with an apparent left shoulder injury.

Curry sustained the injury late in the third period after attempting to steal Pacers big man Jalen Smith. The reigning Finals MVP was mincing in pain while holding his shoulder as he went back for an offensive possession

The Warriors quickly called a timeout to check Curry, who was eventually ruled out to return.

In the postgame, coach Steve Kerr announced that Curry will take an MRI on Thursday and is in “good spirits” amid the scare.

“I checked in with [Curry] briefly but haven’t had a chance to go into detail,” Kerr said, per ESPN’s Kendra Andrews. “Steph is always a guy with a great outlook on life, so he’s in good spirits.”

Before he took an exit, Curry was willing to the Dubs the way he can. In the first half, he already registered 27 markers, wherein footage circulating around social media showed his fatigue prior to heading to the dugout.

In the end, he went off with 38 markers, connecting 11 shots out of 19 attempts including five threes.

“He was just stunning,” Kerr said. “He put us on his shoulders in the minutes he was out there. Generating so much offense, getting to the line, getting the ball to other people. He was brilliant.”

Golden State has now dropped the second-straight night of their six-game road trip before heading back to San Francisco prior to Christmas.

The club will look to regroup as they face the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
