Orlando Magic guard Markelle Fultz is slated to make his 2022-23 season debut against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Fultz has missed the Magic’s last 21 games to start, as he was out upon sustaining a fractured toe injury even before the summer camp commences last September.

Injuries have been a familiar concern for Fultz in his whole career since being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the last 2018 Draft as the top overall selection. Last season, he only appeared in 18 games following a recovery from a torn ACL that occurred back in the 2020-21 campaign.

Fultz averaged 10.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.1 steals in the 2021-22 season. His return can only provide additional depth for Orlando’s backcourt.
