This year’s number one draft pick Paolo Banchero does not seem to need additional time to be a good player in the NBA. Over the three regular season games that he has played he is averaging 23.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 34 minutes per game.

Most recently Banchero scored 23 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a loss against the Celtics. Boston’s veteran and also a former number one draft pick Blake Griffin sees a lot of potential in the 19-year-old power forward.

“People said this about me when I was coming in (the NBA) but once he truly learns the NBA’s in and outs, he’s going to be scary,” Griffin said about the rookie, per Gary Washburn. “He didn’t back down from anybody. He’ll have ups and downs but he’s going to be fine. He’ll be good.”
