Many analysts as well as NBA general managers in this year’s ESPN poll see the Lakers as an 8th seed in the Western Conference at best. Naturally, they expect Los Angeles to make more moves to improve its roster.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, that might to have to wait as the Lakers will likely wait for the market to be more favorable to them.

“I’m told to expect Rob Pelinka and the Lakers to wait until post-Thanksgiving, 20 games into the season and see what teams may start pivoting, who don’t start off well, who decided that they might look to unload players and perhaps get involved in the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes to get down in the lottery instead of as we saw in previous years teams chasing the play-in tournament,” Woj said on ESPN.

He also said that the expectation this season is that there will be more sellers than the buyers on the market which would naturally draw the prices down. Consequently, the Lakers would be able to find a better deal than they would now or before the start of the season.
