A year ago Tyler Herro made a bold statement on Miami Mic’d Up with Jeremy Taché, claiming that he believes to be in the “same conversation” with the likes of Luka Doncic, Trae Young and Ja Morant.

The Heat point guard was reminded of this quote. He maintained his original view that he belongs in the same category with these young stars of the NBA.

“Those players are great players, great young players. As I said last year, I don’t feel any different,” Herro said. “However other people feel like, it doesn’t affect me how I feel about myself.

“Just being able to get on the court and prove it. That’s all that I can do. People can talk all they want. I think my numbers back it up. I think I continue to get better.

“But at the end of the day there’s a bunch of great young layers in the league and I’m one of them. I appreciate everyone that puts me in that category.”

Last season Herro averaged 20.7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in 32.6 minutes per game coming off the bench for Miami.
