Malik Beasley was in the media during the last couple of years for reasons not related with basketball. The 25-year-old shooting guard was sentenced 120 days in jail for for marijuana possession, concealing stolen property, and for an incident in which he brandished a firearm.

This past offseason he expressed a desire to sort things out and make up for his past mistakes, saying that he believes in second chance. When speaking on the media day he revealed his personal goal for the 2022-2023 season which extends outside the basketball court.

“I’m about to be an All-Star on and off the court. I want to get the Community Assist award,” Beasley said. “That’s my biggest goal this year. And just continue to stay healthy. Last year I played 79 games. I’m trying to make sure I’m up to 82.

“And then off the court situation, I want to make sure that people know that I’m a great man. I like to have to fun, very energetic and have a funny character.”

Last season Beasley averaged 12.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 25 minutes per game for the Timberwolves.
