The summer ended with the Lakers unable to find a suitable trade for Russell Westbrook. As the team is getting closer to the start of the training camp, the sentiment within the team is changing.

According to Dan Woike of Los Angeles Times, the purple and gold are comfortable keeping the former league MVP on the roster as they head into training camp.

The Lakers are unwilling to give away their future first-round picks to trade Russ unless the trade significantly increases their chances to contend for a championship.

If no such trade is available, the team is okay with proceeding with Westbrook, hoping that the new head coach Darvin Ham will find him a role in which he can be an impactful player.
