Apparently, several rumored suitors of the Utah Jazz are on the radar of Donovan Mitchell’s preferred destinations.
Sources told The Athletic’s Tony Jones that Mitchell isn’t asking yet to be traded. But if he’ll be reached out about his desired landing spots once gets transferred, the New York Knicks, Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets are reportedly on the list.
New York remains being considered as the favorite to gain the All-star guard, but a potential deal remains far from reality. Negotiations are still in process, wherein the Knicks are rumored hesitant to part ways with their future picks as it will cost them assets for additional improvements.
Meanwhile, Miami, though they have Tyler Herro, doesn’t have any other key pieces to make an enticing offer. Their unwillingness to offload Bam Adebayo will also be difficult in grabbing Mitchell out of the Salt Lake City.
And lastly, the Nets won’t be able to pull a transaction, considering that Ben Simmons remains intact in their lineup. Like the Heat, they lack that promising threshold to convince the Jazz brass to let go of Mitchell.
As it stands, Utah’s lead executive Danny Ainge appears convinced of his desire to receive a better haul than what he absorbed from the blockbuster Rudy Gobert trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Looking at the current scenario, this whispers about Mitchell will go even beyond the upcoming training camp – or even in the new regular season.
