The arrival of Jalen Brunson in the Big Apple makes Tom Thibodeau excited for the New York Knicks.

As reported by Marc Berman of the New York Post, Thibodeaue is “ecstatic” on the acquisition of Brunson, wherein he believes he can turn the explosive guard from “a B-minus player to a B-plus player.’’

As a defensive-minded coach, Berman noted that Thibodeau will focus on honing the defense of the Villanova product despite being an undersized guard.

Brunson, 25, had a strong showing with the Dallas Mavericks last season, helping them to reach the Conference Finals while stepping up his game after averaging 21.6 points, 4.6 boards, 3.7 dimes in 46.6 percent shooting for 18 total postseason occasions.

Upon his emergence, Brunson had a wide opportunity for his career, inking a four-year deal worth $104MM guaranteed money with the Knicks this offseason. Besides having this best time to shine brighter, he’ll also be guided by his father, Rick Brunson, in the sidelines, who is a newly-named assistant of Thibodeau’s coaching staff.

Brunson is set for a potential season of stardom, with him running the show under the bright lights of the Garden.
