Trade talks resume between Utah Jazz and the New York Knicks about Donovan Mitchell. Shams Charania from The Athletic was the first to make the announcement.

After several weeks of no conversations, the Knicks and Jazz recently re-engaged in trade talks centered on Donovan Mitchell, sources tell me and @Tjonesonthenba.

On Thursday morning, Mitchell tweeted a message which read, “Breath of fresh air.”

Later in the day, Mitchell tweeted again, which read, ‘Rucker Tonight!!!’

Daniel Artest feels Donovan Mitchell doesn’t move the needle for the Knicks.

“I don’t think it moves the needle, and I don’t think it will lead to other stars coming to New York to play. I don’t think he knows what he is getting into playing in The Garden with that media and that fanbase,” says the younger brother of Lakers NBA Champion Ron Artest.

It’s a different type of player. He could go in his first four games at The Garden and then have two bad games or go into a slump. It’s over for him, and it’s hard for a player to come back from that. You see what they did to Julius Randle. So, I think the Knicks need to stay the course and don’t rush to win, even if they get Donovan Mitchell. He is a high-scoring guy who reminds me of another Jerry Stackhouse type of person. Yeah, he can put points on the board, but what more can he do that can affect winning. I like what the Knicks are building. They need to stand pact.”

Mitchell finished last season averaging 25.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.
