The contract talks between James Harden and the 76ers are going smoothly. It was reported that the former NBA MVP will sign a two-year deal with the team after opting out of his player option.
Harden, who will turn 33-years-old next month, is willing to take less money on his new deal in order for Philadelphia to have more cap space available for other players.
His only goal is to win a championship, the Beard says. To achieve that he is prepared to make a sacrifice.

“I had conversations with Daryl, and it was explained how we could get better and what the market value was for certain players. I told Daryl to improve the roster, sign who we needed to sign and give me whatever is left over,” Harden told Yahoo Sports. “This is how bad I want to win. I want to compete for a championship. That’s all that matters to me at this stage. I’m willing to take less to put us in position to accomplish that.”
