The Portland Trail Blazers intend to waive veteran Eric Bledsoe ahead of his contract guarantee date, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Bledsoe will amass his entire salary of $19.3 million for the 2022-2023 season should the Blazers won’t cut him out of their roster before July 10th. But he’ll earn $3.9 million once he finally get waived.

As what Charania have noted, several teams will try to chase for the guard in the open market.

Bledsoe arrived in Portland last February via trade by the Los Angeles Clippers. After compiling an average of  9.9 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in 54 games for the Clips, he was shelved by the Blazers for the remainder of the last season due to Achilles tendinopathy.

A 12-year professional, Bledsoe originally signed a four-year, $70MM extension with the Milwaukee Bucks on 2019.
