This past season was his first proper NBA season for Gary Payton II. The 29-year-old point guard played 71 regular season games – as many as he did throughout his entire NBA career prior this year.

He earned his place on the Warriors roster and crowned the year with his first NBA championship. Payton is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Golden State is considered to be the favorite to keep the guard, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, even though his value on the market has increased.

This past season Payton averaged 7.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 17.6 minutes per game for the Warriors.
