It was reported recently that LeBron James has achieved one of his goal – he officially became a billionaire. According to the NBA commissioner Adam Silver, this shows how big the league has become on global basis.

The Lakers superstar became the first active player to be worth $1 billion. NBA legend Michael Jordan, who owns the Hornets, achieved that, but only after retirement.

“It’s amazing that he can be billionaire as current player I think Michael Jordan became a billionaire as a former player,” Silver said, per Landon Buford. “It’s a proxy how big this league has become in many ways.”
