Adreian Payne, a big man who starred at Michigan State and played four seasons in the NBA, was shot and killed Monday morning in Florida.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson took to Twitter to react to the news:

“Cookie and I are heartbroken to hear that former Spartan Adreian Payne has passed away. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and Spartan Nation! Adreian will be sorely missed.”

Adreian Payne, 31, played four seasons for three teams. Payne’s career averages were 4.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 107 regular-season games.
