Joel Embiid will require surgery to address the ligament tear in his right thumb, but that procedure will wait until after the Sixers' season, sources tell ESPN.

Surgery is needed for Joel Embiid on his thumb. He's going to play through it but that can't be good for the 76ers and their title hopes. Embiid shot 7-16 last game w/ just two attempts outside of 15 ft after averaging nearly 4 three-point attempts per game during the season
