Cleveland Cavaliers big man Dean Wade is set to miss a significant time due to a partial meniscus tear.

Per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, Wade will likely be re-evaluated for 3-4 weeks, wherein the Cavs are optimistic that he’ll return in the last phase of the regular season or exactly at the postseason.

Prior to this update, Cleveland already had growing concerns about Wade’s right knee soreness since last week. It turned out that the 25-year-old sustained a meniscus injury – undeniably a worst-case scenario.

As such, Rookie of the Year candidate Evan Mobley, sharpshooting big Lauri Markkanen, and beloved sixth man Kevin Love will continue to boldly hold the line for the Cavaliers in the frontcourt slate, as Jarrett Allen (finger) will remain on the sidelines possibly until the end of the 2022 season. They are currently filling the sixth seed (41-30) of the competitive Eastern Conference and are in danger of possibly going down to the Play-in spot before the playoffs – with 11 games left to ponder.

In 19 minutes of play, Wade is averaging 5.3 points, 2.9 boards, and an assist in this season for the promising wine and gold squad.
