Basketball fans could soon see former NBA player Delonte West play competitive basketball. Recently a video has been published of him knocking down shots in a gym.

Now the story behind the video has come out. According to TMZ, the 38-year-old has been working for the past month in Pat The Roc Basketball Academy in Gaithersburg, Maryland hoping to get a spot in the BIG3 league.

The league, founded hip hop musician and actor Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz, has attracted many former prominent NBA players as well as Americans from overseas.

West has played his last professional basketball game back in 2015 with the Texas Legends and the D League. Over 8 years in the NBA he averaged 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 27.4 minutes per game.
