The Miami Heat have announced converting Caleb Martin’s two-way contract into a standard NBA deal.

Martin signed a two-way deal with the Heat back in September and has since made 44 appearances, including 10 starts. He is averaging 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 22.9 minutes a game. The forward is shooting 50.6 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from long distance.

Martin has proven his worth as a pretty important player for a Miami team harboring title ambitions this season and was one of the players who stepped up to keep the Heat winning while a number of their key players were out. He has scored in double figures 21 times, setting a career-high 28-point performance in a win against the Milwaukee Bucks on December 8.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, per team policy.

Meanwhile, the Heat are coming off a 107-99, Tuesday night loss to the Dallas Mavericks. The defeat leaves them holding an identical 37-21 record with the Chicago Bulls at the top of the Eastern Conference.
