Bayern Munich will continue to push for more after a good run of results in the last few games. The Bavarians will clash with Bundesliga rivals ALBA Berlin Friday night.
Andrea Trinchieri’s team has a chance to equalize their 11-11 record against Berlin after two wins away from home vs Baskonia and Villeurbanne. ALBA sits 16th in the EuroLeague standings with a 6-14 record.
“Alba is the reigning German champion and this year is again doing very well with his leading players Sikma and Lo. Their system has proven itself and we have to be at our best in this game to beat them,” Bayern head coach Andrea Trinchieri said.
Bayern will have to play again without top-scorer Darrun Hilliard, while Paul Zipser and Nihad Djedovic remained sidelined. As for ALBA, Marcus Eriksson and Tim Schneider did not play in rescheduled Round 20 game against Maccabi on Tuesday.
“Of course we have more self-confidence and energy after the last victories, you can already see that in the dressing room and it feels good,” Augustine Rubit said on Friday’s derby.
“As always, we want to win the next game, but Berlin is certainly special again. They have their own style and players like Luke and Maodo that we need to control. It’s great that we finally have our fans back, who we definitely missed in some disappointing home games.”
