Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James recently turned 37 years old and is playing his 19th season in the NBA. Despite being a veteran, he plays big minutes for his team and is a clear leader.

Most recently, James played 36 minutes in the win against the Sacramento Kings. The four-time NBA champion was the top scorer for the Lakers with 31 points.

After the game, he was asked how he feels playing 37 minutes per game and if it was to continue for the rest of the season. “Throughout the course of a game we try to pick moments where I could get some rest,” he said.

“Without AD we’ve all had to pick up in some ways that we probably didn’t beforehand. So that’s doing more rebounding, doing more screening, doing more taking charges, doing more blocks, trying to block shots and also picking up a few more minutes as well.

“Like I said, I’ve always put myself in a position where I can play heavy minutes and do whatever it takes to help this team win. Coach has done a good job even through Frank or Fizz was the interim coach at the time, I’m just trying to watch my minutes at times but we also need to win ball games as well. I feel pretty good, I don’t feel like I’m playing 37 minutes.”

James also remembered that this isn’t the most minutes he played during the season, saying that his record is 42 and that he even has a plaque from the NBA for that.
