After just playing one game with the Dallas Mavericks, newly-signed point guard Isaiah Thomas has entered the health and safety protocols.

Thomas will join teammates Trey Burke, Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr., Maxi Kleber, Brandon Knight, Boban Marjanović, and JaQuori McLaughlin as unavailable on the Mavs’ next duel against the Sacramento Kings on Friday afternoon.

Thomas, off of a 10-day hardship deal with the Lakers, inked a new temporary contract with the COVID-marred Dallas team to replace Knight, who earlier entered the protocols. In his first appearance with the Mavs in Wednesday’s loss against the Kings, he finished with 6 markers and 4 assists while playing 13 minutes off the bench.

Dallas holds a 16-18 record while sitting at the 8th spot of the West.
