LeBron James assessed the situation around the Los Angeles Lakers team that suffered a blowout loss to the dominant Phoenix Suns on Tuesday (105-85).

James sounded like he knows as much about his team’s potential now as he did when the season started. The Lakers fell back to .500 (16-16) after the loss to Phoenix.

(per ESPN):

“We don’t know,” James said after he registered his 8th 30-point-plus game in the last 12. “We have no idea what this team can be.”

“So how can we really fully assess what we have when we haven’t been whole? I can’t remember the last time we played the same starting lineup and had the same rotation coming off the bench,” James continued. “It’s been a long time. So, it’s hard to assess that.”

Like many other teams, the Lakers have faced a good amount of adversity since the start of the season. However, the Lakers played with the 17th different starting lineup of the season against the Suns, which is the most in the league.

The Lakers have to build a contending team through adversity, as they’re still showing a lack of continuity as a team. James missed several games at the start of the season, while Anthony Davis is still out for several weeks.
