The Los Angeles Lakers were missing not only their superstar Anthony Davis and a bunch of players, but also their head coach Frank Vogel, who was out due to health and safety protocols, during the game against the Chicago Bulls.

Assistant coach David Fizdale took charge of the team in the game that could have gone either way. In the end, the Bulls, led by DeMar DeRozan, were victorious.

After the game, Fizdale talked about the loss. “We came in understanding these are not normal circumstances,” he said. “Everybody wrapped their mind around that coming into the game. That’s a backup coach, we had a couple of G League guys playing for us.

“The thing about this team’s is the next-man-up mentality and they really brought the effort and the collective team energy.”
