There is a whirling positivity that Kyrie Irving may seek an anticipated appearance in this 2021-2022 season.

As released by Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium on Monday, a “renewed optimism” has appeared within the Brooklyn Nets camp about the availability of the All-star guard. Irving and his teammate, Kevin Durant, have been in constant communication over the last several weeks, which led to “an increased level of enthusiasm between the two superstars”.

Charania reiterated that the way of comeback remains uncertain, but there’s an ongoing feeling around that the 2016 champion could lace up his shoes and feel the NBA atmosphere once again.

“It remains unclear whether Irving’s potential return this season would come via vaccination to meet New York City’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement or by Brooklyn opening the door for him to play road games and practice at home, but sources have indicated a renewed belief that Irving could play this season after all.”

Irving decided to stick to his beliefs and remain unvaccinated amid the clamor for him to follow New York City’s vaccine mandates. The said place requires at least one vaccination shot in order to be allowed to enter an indoor infrastructure, like the Barclays Center.

Before the season kicked off, the Nets opted to sideline Irving out of team activities until prior notice in lieu of the rulings. His possible return will definitely push Brooklyn to the upper echelon of title contention.

Irving registered an average of 26.9 points, 6.0 assists, 4.8 boards, in an impressive 50-40-90 shooting splits last season.
