Patrick Beverley and the Minnesota Timberwolves have been rumored to be discussing a contract extension.

As stated by Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic in his ‘The Jon Krawczynski Show’, the T-Wolves are considering re-signing the 33-year-old guard as a “priority” this season.

Beverley arrived in Minnesota nine days after being acquired by the Memphis Grizzlies in the last offseason from the transaction with the Los Angeles Clippers. A controversial player, yet an admired teammate, he is widely regarded as a feisty opponent with an encouraging energy as well as high level of defensive intensity — proven by the three All-NBA defensive selections under his belt.

Beverley is set to garner a $14.3 million salary in his final contract now with Minnesota, and this upcoming new deal might be viewed as his last hefty pay day due to his age. He missed seven games so far in this 2021-2022 campaign with the Timberwolves, but he proved himself as a motivating veteran and culture-setter in Minneapolis basketball.

With his competitiveness and leadership further ignites the promising squad, the Wolves are currently holding an 11-12 record in the West as he is averaging 8.1 points, 4.5 assists, 4.4 rebounds in 25.4 minutes.
