New Orleans Pelicans revealed Zion Williamson has been cleared to participate in full team activities, the team announced Friday. Zion hasn’t played yet, because he’s in recovery from a foot surgery.

Williamson played 4-on-4 full court today and will continue his progression toward returning to play. An estimated date to return to game action has not been determined.

Nevertheless, the fact that Williamson has been given permission by the team’s medical staff to be a full participant bodes well with the franchise’s hopes to have him available sooner rather than later.

When training camp opened, New Orleans VP of basketball operations David Griffin dropped unexpected news that Williamson had foot surgery on the offseason.

The Pelicans started with just four wins in the first 20 games of the season, playing without Zion Williamson, who was reportedly out of shape at the start of the year.
