LeBron James was suspended one game for hitting Isaiah Stewart in the face during Sunday night’s Los Angeles Lakers-Detroit Pistons game.

Most people who watched the incident recognized right away that James would be suspended for his unnecessary blow to Stewart’s face. However, fellow Laker Anthony Davis has a different opinion.

“The report came out and said his hit to the face caused the incident, which is weird because he can’t control how a guy is going to react. Guys get hit in the face all the time,” Davis said, per Michael Scotto of Hoopshype.

Playing without James on Tuesday, the Lakers lost 106-100 to the Knicks. They dropped to 9-10. Davis had a quiet game with 20 points, six rebounds and three assists.

LeBron is expected to return to action Wednesday vs the Indiana Pacers. The Detroit Pistons and Isaiah Stewart will face the Lakers again on Sunday.
