Brooklyn Nets returned to their winning ways with a bounce-back victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday. The Nets experienced another disheartening loss on Sunday, before blowing out Washington last night.

Steve Nash praised veteran point guard Patty Mills, who put up 21 points, on 8-of-14 shooting – including a 5-of-9 mark from long range – in 23 minutes off the bench.

“He’s a winner,” said head coach Steve Nash. “He plays the right way. He’s experienced. Obviously, he is skilled. But he just brings a great feel to the game with (or) without the ball, defensively.

He makes, I think, our team communicate better. He organizes us on both sides of the ball. He brings a lot to the table and he’s a great addition to our team.”

Mills also bounced back from a forgettable performance vs. Charlotte on Sunday, as he mustered five points on 2-of-10 shooting and a 1-for-6 from beyond the arc in 32 minutes off the bench.

“I think I’ve understood, over my time, that it is a marathon of a season and you can’t necessarily nitpick certain things every game,” Mills said.

“I think, for me, take it in chunks. But there are some little things, I think, you can definitely look at and improve on every game.”
