Orlando Magic have agreed to a contract extension with promising big Wendell Carter Jr. Terms of the deal have not been confirmed by the team, but Shams Charania reports that Carter Jr. extension is worth $50 million over four seasons.
Carter Jr. joined Orlando during the past season trade deadline as part of the deal that sent Nikola Vucevic to the Chicago Bulls.
The former sixth overall pick from the 2018 NBA Draft, is entering the last season of his four-year rookie deal. He became the sixth player to sign a contract extension from the 2018 Draft class.
The Atlanta native averaged 11.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 22 games (19 starts) with the Magic to close out last season. He put up 12.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and one block per contest during the 2021 NBA preseason.
